CNET Networks UK Beefs Up Business Media Sales Team with Restructure, New Hires ad Promotions
ZDNet.co.uk and silicon.com teams merged to create a portfolio sales operation
CNET NETWORKS UK, the UK's largest online-only publisher*, has restructured and expanded its business media sales operation with the addition of a new account manager and the promotion of three people.
The two separate teams covering ZDNet.co.uk and silicon.com have been merged to provide a 12-strong portfolio sales operation, which sells advertising and sponsorship opportunities across ZDNet.co.uk, silicon.com, and atlarge.com. The team also sells UK IP-targeted inventory across CNET Networks' international business sites, which include TechRepublic.com, CNETNews.com and BNET.com.
The beefed up business media sales team is jointly led by Mark Brown and Gavin Scothern. The new team sees the addition of Peter Walshe who has been hired to oversee new business and manage several agencies.
Walshe was previously at Blendon communications where he worked on Homesoverseas.co.uk and What House? websites. Prior to this he worked at Benfield Reinsurance and Foxtons.
In addition, Clive Page has been promoted to the new role of product development manager. Page is responsible for developing new products across CNET Networks' UK business sites – in particular new opportunities around features and upgrades. He was previously sales manager for ZDNet.co.uk.
Suzie Daniels, head of business media, CNET Networks UK, said: "This is a move that puts both product development and an absolute focus on our customers at the heart of our business."
According to comScore MediaMetrix, May 2007, CNET Networks UK websites attracted a 28.9% share of the total UK online population.
