www.silicon.com, the CNET Networks UK-owned online publication for senior business decision-makers, has re-shuffled its editorial team with a host of promotions, moves and hires.

The rapidly growing site* continues to build on its award-winning multimedia business journalism with an increase in video output, special reports, projects and high level interviews.

Will Sturgeon moves from managing editor to editor-at-large overseeing several key beat areas, the silicon.com Weekly Round-Up, weekly podcasts and special reports.

Sylvia Carr moves from analysis and reports editor to become managing editor focusing on improving the user experience and building reader loyalty. Carr will manage all silicon.com columnists plus several big annual special reports in addition to helping grow the recently launched atlarge.com "wi-fi watch" website.

Steve Ranger moves from business editor to the newly created news editor chair. Steve will overhaul the news process, making sure silicon.com showcases its best home-grown content. Ranger will also manage all the reporters.

Julian Goldsmith joins silicon.com as business editor to develop vertically focused sections on the public sector, financial services and retail & leisure. Goldsmith was a member of the original silicon.com launch team and during the past five years has worked at Retail Week, edited Mobile News magazine and recently worked for Times Online.

Andy McCue is promoted to the role of community editor. McCue will oversee the CIO Visions Series strand and develop a number of new content types.

Tony Hallett, silicon.com editor and site director, said: "We welcome Julian Goldsmith back to the silicon.com fold and it goes without saying that over the past few years all the senior members of the team have proved their worth through involvement in award-winning brands such as the Weekly Round-Up, CIO Jury, Peter Cochrane's blog and more. These moves allow the team to press ahead, and deliver new content in a range of formats including video, audio and events."
